A 58-year old crewman had to be evacuated after suffering head injuries falling nine feet while aboard the commercial shipping freight Rickmers Tokyo on June 27. The man was transported to a medical center in New Jersey for treatment.

Slips and fall aboard ships are all too common, and can result in serious injury. Some factors that can contribute to these sorts of injuries include overly slippery decks, hazardous layouts of ships, or the lack of a handrail. If you have been injured while working aboard a ship, be sure to find out about your rights under maritime law as soon as possible.
