The 83 foot Fishing Vessel, the UNIMAK, ran aground on the rocks near Chignik, Alaska according to the Coast Guard. A Good Samaritan vessel, the SYLVIA STAR, picked up the three crewmembers who abandoned the fishing vessel.
There is no indication of what caused the vessel grounding. However, a gale warning was issued for waters South of the Alaska Peninsula which were gusting more than 60 mph with 14 foot seas.
