The Canadian Coast Guard has reported that a fish processor aboard Trident Seafoods' vessel ALEUTIAN FALCON has been lost overboard. The 30 year old crewman was last seen aboard the vessel around noon on Thursday and discovered missing around 4:00 P.M. The ALEUTIAN FALCON was transiting between Port Neville to Campbell River and retraced its route in an attempt to locate the missing crewman. The crewman's body was recovered by kayakers near Port McNeill on Friday Afternoon.
The ALEUTIAN FALCON is a 223 foot Alaska Fish Processor which carries a crew of up to 120 fish processors. The circumstances of how the crewman fell overboard are unknown at this time.
